YouthNet provides tools that help you:

This guide will help you understand your daily responsibilities and how to use the platform effectively.

Your Role in YouthNet

As a Coach, you are responsible for:

Your consistent use of the platform helps create a better experience for participants and families.

Accessing YouthNet

Coaches typically access YouthNet through:

  • Mobile Application: Recommended for daily use.
  • Web Portal: If enabled by your organization.

Understanding Your Dashboard

After signing in, you will see information relevant to your assigned responsibilities. Depending on your organization, this may include:

  • Assigned Programs
  • Assigned Brackets
  • Assigned Batches
  • Notifications
  • Messages
  • Recent Activity

Understanding Program Structure

Before using the platform, it is important to understand the organization of participants.

Program → Bracket → Batch → Participant

Example:

  • Program: Summer Cricket Camp
  • Bracket: Under 14
  • Batch: Evening Batch
  • Participants: Registered Players

Managing Your Batches

Your assigned batches contain the participants you work with regularly.

Viewing Assigned Batches
Navigate to: My Batches. Review Batch Name, Schedule, and Participant Count.

Batch Information
Within each batch you can view Participant List, Attendance History, Communication Activity, and Session Notes.

Attendance Management

Attendance is one of your most important responsibilities. Accurate attendance records help organizations Monitor participation, Improve communication, and Track engagement.

Recording Attendance
Navigate to: Assigned Batch → Attendance. You may Mark All Present, Mark Individuals, and Review Existing Attendance.

Attendance Workflow
Open Batch → Select Attendance → Mark Attendance → Add Notes → Save.

Attendance Status
Depending on your organization’s configuration, attendance may include Present, Absent, and Additional statuses.

Best Practices
Record attendance immediately after each session. Avoid waiting until later in the day. This improves accuracy.

Session Notes

Session Notes provide additional context about a participant’s attendance or performance. These notes are visible to parents.

Examples of Effective Notes:

  • ✓ Great effort during today’s session.
  • ✓ Improved consistency and focus.
  • ✓ Demonstrated excellent teamwork.
  • ✓ Participated actively throughout the session.

Examples to Avoid:

  • ✗ Very bad today.

YouthNet supports direct communication between coaches and parents.

Messaging Parents
You may communicate regarding Attendance, Session Updates, Participant Development, and Schedule Changes.

Receiving Parent Messages
Parents may contact you through the platform. Common topics include Attendance questions, Schedule clarification, Session feedback, and General inquiries. Respond promptly whenever possible.

Notifications & Announcements

Notifications
You will receive notifications for New Messages, Announcements, Program Updates, and Administrative Notices. Review notifications regularly.

Announcements
Organization administrators may publish announcements. Examples: Schedule Changes, Holiday Closures, Event Information, and Program Updates. Stay informed and review announcements promptly.

Participant Engagement Best Practices

The most successful coaches do more than record attendance. They actively engage participants and families.
